Paul, you are duped. 1 Qa6 is refuted by 1...Rxb8 CHECK when White has no mate on the 2nd move.

Nice solution, plus a simple arrangement of pieces! Qb3 runs into Rxb8+ & although its winning, its not mate in 2.
Well, I tried and used my own brain not a computer...C'est la vie...:-)
1. Qb3 wins. This took me about 30 seconds to do and I'm a rabbit at 1600. You don't need 5 minutes for this.
But Qb3 is not the answer, "anonymous". Lots of things win, but the solution is Bg2.
