The tournament attracted 33 players, which was about the same as last year. Once again the format of 9 rounds over 2 weekends was popular with the players that played, but there were a significant number of players from last years tournament who did not back up for this year. With the ACT Chess Association covering the tournament overheads, the prize pool (from the tournament entries) was a very nice $1690.

Unfortunately I don't recognize many of these names, suggesting they are chess players who play primarily in the ACT and seldom anywhere else in Australia.
